ugh,it is driving me crazy
i had uxtheme software or whatever it iscalled , installed so i could try out some new themes , but didn't really need any of them,so i deleted it by again clicking on the uxtheme icon…like it said to do,and for the most part it did uninstall itself, and then i proceeded to delete all the folders that i had saved for it,now all i have is one of the themes , and this on file uxtheme.dll - i can remove the theme easily enough , but the dll keeps giving me an access denied error - is it a virus or something? because i do not want it to screw my computer up !! but how do i remove it ?
i have already tried restarting , and renaming , and trying to find it in control panels add/remove programs ,and by shutting it down in task manager ,and super anti spyware found nothing wrong in my computer
one time i renamed it to dll.txt and was able to delete it after i rebooted the computer , but the uxtheme.dll was back in my system 32 folder
so my question is ,is this going to screw up my computer ?
how do i remove this file ?
or should i just leave it ?
thanks for the help !!
do you mean that it is a part of windows? like that came with windows originally ? - and its not a virus ?
or is it a part of the theme thing i downloaded ?
will it matter if its deleted or not - like it isn't compromising my system at al ?
your sure it wont hurt anything ?

uxtheme.dll is a Windows system file; any instances of it will be protected and marked as a system file. To use other themes, they require you to use a 'tweaked' version of the file; which is usually included with the themes.
You would probably have to boot to the recovery console to remove the windows file protection, and rmeove it via DOs, but it's not going to hurt anything staying there. The original version should be back in place in the Windows system32 diretory already.
