Can't sign into computer (Error 0xc0000005)?

June 11th, 2008 · 3 Comments

A short while ago I was trying to change some control panel settings PC but every time I tried to do something I would receive the message of "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application" I am now not only unable to change settings, but also unable to sign in to my computer at all. I would click an account I would like tot sign in on to but as it loads my personal settings I would receive the message and the computer wouldn't load. My background would load on my desktop but no icons would appear and no mouse clicks or keystrokes would do anything. If this is not fixable by myself then please don't try to confuse me, but just just tell me straight. Thankyou.

Reboot while tapping the F8 key and at the screen choose "last known good configuration".
