On my computer I can’t start its because it says I have a missing or corrupt
I dont have a floppy in the floppy drive but i did an complete system restore so i lost all my files anyways half of them were fragmented anyways due to not enough care on the computer while i was away from the house and my brother was there but i dont have a boot disk ill see if i can borrow one though and Leandro if you see this again id like to talk so message me on my Yahoo IM jeralddraper@yahoo.com

HAL was a character in a movie called 2001 space odessey or something like that. try a google search on that filename and it will reveal what it is used for.

Do you have a floppy inside the floppy drive? Sometimes the computer tries to boot from the floopy if there is one inside. If not try running in safe mode if you have the option. But i believe the same thing happend to my friend, he just borrowed a friends windows XP installation disk. Hopefully there is a solution to your problem without the need of installing it over again and causing you to lose all of your files x.x

Just take someone else’s hal.dll and drop it in there using a linux live cd
