I installed Star Wars: Jedi Academy on my computer a few weeks ago…now I need to uninstall the program so I can have a CLEAN install of the program. I tried to uninstall it via control panel….the uninstall dialog pops up with the status bar….it gets finished THEN another box pops up saying it’s done with “Maintenance” of the program.
Ok..So I try to do it another way..I go to the Program Files folder..go to the program’s folder..find the uninstall file(uninstall.exe)..I double click that..and the same thing happens as above.
Ok…So after that I decide to DELETE the whole folder of the program myself….I delete it….go into REGEDIT & delete anything that has to do with “Star Wars” (except the stuff Windows need to run itself)
At this point I’m thinking I got it all…….So i try ti Install the program again & it just goes through the “uninstall” process(the uninstall dialog box) AGAIN…then when it’s done it says “Maintenance” is done AGAIN.
I don’t know what to do at this point….I’ve ran out of options of how to uninstall & have a clean install of the program.
Can anyway help me out here?
BTW….I ran my antivirus just before all this..and got rid of any viruses..My Norton is also updated as well.

Try System Restore.. hopefully it has the date before you install that..
Go to start, Search in System Restore and chose the time before you install it..
Windows Vista is kind of confusing for me.. so im not really sure whats next.. but Once you open system restore try to look for the time before you install that and restore it.. if you cant find the time then your system restore setting is probably low and didnt save that time..
Good Luck!

Try running ccleaner and scanning the registry. It’s a free program, and will scrub anything you may have missed during the uninstall..

I have also had problems uninstalling programs in Vista. What worked for me was starting the computer in the safe mode and then just uninstalling them–that worked for me.
If you do not know how to start your computer in the safe mode, just type “How to start vista in safe mode” and you will find lots of info on that.
