I had Battlefield Vietnam installed on my Windows Vista. It worked great. Then I started having other problems with another game and I thought maybe it was because of this game. So I uninstalled them both and restarted my computer. Only I had a virus that wouldn't let me restart. So I had to take it to a computer technician and fix it etc. etc. I got my computer back about two weeks ago. Anyway, I went to reinstall the game tonight so I could play it.
That's when I hit my problem.
My computer says that the game is still installed. All the files are deleted, but it's still in my programs screen. It won't let me install it until I uninstall it, but I can't uninstall it because there's nothing to uninstall - it won't even load the uninstall screen!
I went through the help file in the windows support screen and it told me to restart in safe mode - that didn't help.
Everything is off my computer, all the files, everything. It just reads that it is still there (the EA games folder is gone) in the change/uninstall program section under the control panel.
When I stick the disk in, it has the options to play, uninstall, install, etc. But the only one I can click is uninstall. And it won't load anything from there.
So now I'm stuck with a game I love but can't play because it only partially uninstalled (sorta).
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
I did try in safe mode
And I can't install it - it won't let me click the button on the main screen and when I auto start it from my computer it just takes me back to the main screen.
It told me uninstall in safe mode- which I tried.
I downloaded the thing off of Cnet and it uninstalled it great but I still can't install it! When I stick the disk in it only lets me click uninstall - and this doesn't do anything. Am I screwed?
What reg keys?
I think it's all uninstalled, anyway, now I can open the cd and get into it to manually start the setup. but it lets me install all the components and demos to the game, but not the game itself because it says it's installed (and when you click to uninstall it the installer just freezes). None of my folders are remaining and it's not even coming up on the program screen! I'm so frustrated!
since everything's uninstalled, I guess now I'm looking for someone to tell me how to tell the cd that it's uninstalled because the cd won't install it, claiming it already is.
I think I did get the regular keys then; I can't find anything left on my computer and it's off all the program screens.

just reinstall that game and try uninstalling it then …. I think you just deleted its uninstall log file by chance … and its staying there now without uninstalling support. And you can get more tips from http://www.buyfastsoftware.com/download-software-c-21.html

Run a moderate uninstall
update!!
Windows installer doesn't work in safe mode.
Meaning u can't install/uninstall a program in safe mode
Update!
Did you delete the reg keys and stuff?
Update!
When you run the Revo uninstaller , it gives you an option to delete the reg keys.
make sure you carefully delete all the reg keys associated with the game
update!
If you have deleted all the reg keys and have restarted the computer already then the only thing i can suggest is , reload the computer
Restore it back to the factory settings if you really wanna play this game

utilize a remover to help you.
Power Software Wiper is a replacement for the standard Windows Add/Remove Software dialog. It loads fast and offers some additional features to remove leftover files and registry entries, as well as a forced uninstall mode for programs that did not come with a common uninstall tool.
