You might have to track down that CD. It sounds like there was a file that was deleted by accident somehow. If it was a new computer from the store then the CD had to have came with it. It might be on the CD that says “computer components” or something. If you bought it fro someone else, call them and see if they have it.

In my experience, Norton is an awful Internet Security program. This seems to be just more proof of that.
Go to your control panel (Start>Control Panel) and click Add Remove Programs. Find the Norton program in the list and install it.
If that fails, go to C:/Program Files and find the Norton Folder. Delete that. Be sure not to touch anything that you are not Absolutely sure about as deleting the wrong folder in there could cause serious problems in your computer.
Once you install that, you are going to have no virus protection, luckily, there is an easy and free solution to the problem.
Go to free.grisoft.com and download the highly applauded AVG Free Edition. I use this program personally and it gives quality protection for a price that can’t be beat! (FREE!)
If you have any trouble, feel free to e-mail me and we can move on from there
Good Luck!

You need to remove Norton by using the removal tool from their website (Link above).
Once you’ve removed it, I would recommend you to download Avast (free Antivirus) from
