so okay i've been searching for the answer, and this seems to be the common answer for this problem..
" Windows messenger: Windows Messenger is considered a part of the Windows operating system, so to uninstall it:
* Go to Control Panel
* Click on Add/Remove Programs
* Click on Add/Remove Windows Components
* And at the bottom of the list, uncheck Windows Messenger
Now "OK" your way back out, and Windows Setup will run and uninstall Windows Messenger.

ok few problems..
#1, when i go to control panel, theres no option that says add/remove programs.. it only says uninstall programs..
#2 there is no add/remove windows components
#3 even if I just went and looked for windows live messenger on the list to uninstall, its not freaking there!
i hate vista.
any ideas?

The common answer is for windows xp not for vista.
So u can just go to uninstall programs and uninstall it.
But u say u can't find it there. Then I recommand u perfect uninstaller ot uninstall it. The embedded uninstaller of vista can't remove all components of a program. It will leave the registry keys of the program.
That's why we get some strange messages sometimes.
