Can’t verify mcafee subscription?

i had mcafee installed with my laptop at time of purchase for an added fee and it has worked great up until now. a pop-up message alerted me that i was “unprotected” and needed to take action. anyways, i tried to fix the problem but it says i must verify my account, however, when i attempt to the verification fails. i thought about removing the software and then reinstalling it but i don’t know where i would get the software to reinstall it. is there a way to download the software?
