I need to disable both Spybot and ad-aware to install another program. But I've been searching in their help sections and I cant find anyway to temporarily disable them. How sdo i do it?

everytime i try to run ad-aware 07 a message comes up and i cant open it…ive tried on both accounts i have on this computer and neither of them work…when i try to open ad-aware this message pops up:
APPLICATION ERROR
Exception EInvalidOp in module uxtheme.dll at 000025A1.
Invalid floating point operation.

I had both professional and personal editions of ad-aware. I loved the program. I DID still get updates for some reasons in these programs and just found out about ad-aware 2007. Is 2007 any good?

My friend was telling me about a program called "Ad-Aware" for my home computer. It is supposed to clean-up the system and scan for spyware from what I gather. She said she got a free trial online. Is this program safe or does it actually add more spyware?

Does anyone know a good place to get free Ad-Aware that will get rid of the spy-ware/malware on my computer? I keep finding supposedly free ones but all they do is scan and alert me to the malware without removing it, that requires registration and a fee!

i recently ran a scan using Ad-Aware SE 2007 and afterwards when i tried to delete all the objects, it only deleted some of them and the other ones wouldn't delete. What do i do to get rid of them?!

I just downloaded ad-aware 2007 free addition and my defintions files are out-dated
whenever I open it, it says "database, outdated defintions file"
and then "Suggested action :webupdate 60"
i then click update and it says SSL download failed , suggested action, run webupdate

Does the "delete" button on the quarantine page permantly delete the file on my computer? or it only deletes it from the list? Any detailed manual I can read through or find more information?

a damn avi file tried to open in quicktime, then locked up my pc. when i did a hard reboot, ad-aware went nuts with registry changes. i messed up and blocked a bunch of them, and allowed some. now almost nothing works but IE and a few Office apps. Help?!
