Its not a downgrade, its a total reformat of your computer. You dont have to download any drivers, all you have to do is uninstall vista, and then install windows XP.

Buy Windows XP bootable cd, insert the cd, restart computer and boot from the cd, format the drive with Vista and install xp on the same drive. Simple.

Make sure you have drivers for your network card at least so you can download the rest like video and sound.

This is very hard to answer without the Make & Model number of your computer.
Go to the computer manufacturer's website to find all XP drivers FIRST. Then, you can use a legal XP FULL Disk. If they aren't there, don't even try to install XP unless you can identify the motherboard and find all drivers on their website.
If you can't find all the drivers, stick with Vista.
TIP: If your PC came with "manufacturer-specific" Vista Recovery disks, you may need to order the XP Recovery disks to get all the necessary drivers. It's all explained in the PC User Manual.
