if you are reformatting you PC how are you reformating usually you can boot from Windows XP disk and start deleting partitions(C:drive) and rebuilding it again to load XP. If you have data that you don't really care or can loose it boot from the CD instead of going into the Windows program.

Hello,
This relates to a card reader error. Do you have one on your PC? Can you turn it off?
Try this:

Method 1
Thanks,

Try to restore to a date 60-90 days ago,
without the disc…control panel>
performance and maintenance…then look in top left hand corner"system restore"
and set back 60-90 days
when you said stuffed…a hard drive that is 90 odd % full will cause problems…
feel free to E-mail me through my profile…if you like…

This problem occurs when trying to repair or install Windows XP on a machine that has PCI-Express video card(s) and the Windows XP copy is pre-Service Pack 2. If your copy of Windows XP is original without any service packs or only service pack 1 on the disk, you will need to purchase a new copy with at least service pack 2 to prevent this error from occurring.
To disable caching and shadowing you have to go into your system bios on bootup usually by pressing F2 or DEL immediately after turning on the machine depending on who's motherboard and bios it is using, then find the area in the bios that handles memory and make sure the caching and shadowing is disabled, save and exit then try it again, if the problem persists it is more than likely what I first stated.
As for the "blue screen of death" as they are commonly called, the pci.sys with all this 0s and 1s is a memory location and error dump that windows displays for microsoft's techs to help resolve the issue.

1.remove your all lan card, modem,tv tuner card from your cpu PCI SLOTS and try again
2.remome your ram & clean the ram slot using a soft brush , clean the ram teeth with a rubber(penscil eraser) & place it correctly in the ram slot
3.change the ram to the next slot & try
