Computer going slow?

June 19th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Three problems with my computer being slow as of lately:

1. My internet is going slow lately. I don't know why this is, but it's starting to irritate me.

2. Whenever I put my mouse over a mpeg4 video, my computer freezes up for a good 10+ seconds.

3. Sometimes when I press the windows button on my keyboard, it takes a long time to come up, sometimes even completely freezing my computer.

Anyone know why this is happening? I've came to the assumption that I've got a virus somehow. I used AVG anti virus, and SUPERAntiSpyware to scan. I got rid of a few viruses with that, but my computer is still going slow. Anyone have any free virus removal program reccomendations?

well you probably might have spyware which slows down your computer and can make it crash.
or adware or a virus casuing popups.

theres this software called search and destroy
      http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html

its completly free and if you wanna donate money you always can.

i use it for my computer and it works really good.

or if you wanna invest into a good scan check out this programe called "xoftSpySE"

      it also works really good.

      Scan also with updated Adaware.
Are you running out of HDD space and how much RAM do you have? If your drive is active always, check the drive fragmentation levels. Run disk clean up, and defrag, not only does it help keep the HDD free from undue stress, thus increasing performance and life, it also prevents slowdowns and lags.
