My computer screen turned red and it says something like your computer is infected click here for security programing…then it turned blue and said the same thing.
Another bubble came up and said someone is trying to infect your computer-which is why it is running slow. I turned off my computer and unpluged it. Also I just got an antivirus system that I need to install. So should I turn my computer back on, install it then run the spyware? Will that help? Whats wrong with my computer!!! Its just running slow but will all my files be deleted or is that the worst it can do?
yea they said something about malware.. i dont know what that is.
But do I turn my computer BACK ON and INSTALL the spyware and RUN it??
alright I decided it is malware. so my new question is: Should I install a spyware, run it, resart my computer, and clean out all my unwanted files? because I do have alot of unwanted junk. Will that be alright?

Sounds like a spyware or malware program. If a antivirus program is popping up on it's own, DON"T USE IT. It is a malicious program posing as a antivirus program. Go to avast! antivirus (free) and run a scan. The worst a program like this can do is track your online activity, keystrokes, change your homepage, or even crash your computer.

Get scanning as quickly as possible. NEVER run a mchine without anti-virus and anti-spyware software, and keep it up to date. When you load it it will require an on line update.

Don't rely on those bubbles that pop up. If your computer is infected then it can trick you into downloading some fake antivirus and would worsen your computer. Don't download anything from there. I recommend AVG or Avira which both you can get from http://www.download.com/ If your computer is already infected now then I can't guarantee using one of those can delete the threat but it's worth a shot.

Your Computer is infected. Here's the best thing your can. Uncrew the back and take out the harddrive, and put it in an external enclosure to back your data. Make sure that computer is running an antivirus. And then Reload windows.

Run a scan. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Spybot, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info

Some good answers here, some not so good.
Download this program. Spybot: Search & Destroy.
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html
Install the program - then reboot your computer and hit the F8 key once every second while booting, until the boot menu loads. Select the option for Safe Mode with Networking, if you have a high speed internet conection.
Wait for safe mode to load, it will take a long time. Then it will look VERY different from what you are used to when it loads.
Find you Spybot program from the programs menu and launch it.
Update the program, by selecting the update button on the main screen, and following the instructions. Then run a full scan of your computer. This could take a very long time the first time you run. Spybot will find spyware, malware and other bad programs on your machine, and will remove or clean them. If it make a hit, and it will the first time through, then run it again, after it finishes the first time, until it has a clean run with no detection.
Next select the Immunize option on the Spybot main screen. Again it will take some time to run. This will load a feature that prevents most spyware and malware from ever loading into your machine.
Once you get a clean scan with Spybot, reboot your machine into normal mode. Now install the anti-virus program you said you bought, and run a scan with it. IF it hits on a virus, and can not remove it, again boot into safe mode. This time run the anti-virus program to clean the virus out.
Booting to safe mode will prevent most spyware, malware and virus programs from being able to load. Windows will only allow a very limited number of vital programs to load in safe mode. It is intended for repair and diagnostic work, and not for normal running.
