I have permission to access a friend’s computer to ask this question. My computer has recently been infected with numerous viruses and spy-ware. I cannot download any Anti-Virus or Anti-Spyware programs or get help from the net because no currently downloaded programs will open and whenever I try to open one of my internet browsers it says the access point cannot be found, therefore I have no access to the internet browsers whatsoever. When I first started up the system, a dozen Anti-Spyware programs poped up, and I recently purchased a licenese for one called “MS Antispyware”, but now whenever I start up the system the program does not open up. The only only one that does open up is “Antispyware 2008 XP”, but we cannot purchase a license for that one because registration can only be done over the net. The spyware is wiping my memory bit by bit, deleting the “All Programs”, “Control Panel”, “Log Out”, “My Computer”, and a bunch of other stuff off of Start. Occasionally, my “My Computer” window will pop up but I cannot access the C: drive or the D: drive.
A lot of information, yes, but I am really desperate for help. I have no idea, believe it or not, if there are any Antispyware programs available on CD-Rom, nor do I know if they will open up on Setup. Since I cannot access this computer often I will not be able to check back every now and then but I will try. Please help.
Also, the computer infected is a Windows XP, if you need to know.
