Computer question regarding AVG………?

August 28th, 2008 · 2 Comments

When my AVG detects a threat, it comes up with a box that asks if I want to ignore the threat or heal it. If I try and heal it, it then says forced removal may crash the system. Is this likely to happen and does anyone else use AVG with this box coming up?

I have AVG….and it comes up with updates all the time and I let it go ahead and fix my computer. Nothing has ever happened to my computer with AVG. I seem to think AVG is good for your computer….so do my friends.

I do not rate AVG very highly at all, especially V8.
But to answer your question, you should ensure that you have System Restore points that you can restore to, or create a new one, then select Heal. It is rare that healing a threat will cause the system to crash.
