Computer Slow, Need A Lot Of Help?

October 4th, 2008 · 2 Comments

Well, I recently downloaded Mozilla Firefox. I had around 3GB of space and my computer was going fast. Well, I’m now down to 562 MB of space. Now this is strange because I barely have software. The only one I have is Itunes and AIM. Anyways, I disk defragmented my computer and disk cleaned up. It barely made a difference, shooting it up to 1 GB. Can anyone help me? And please no BS answers like: Upgrade your computer or Idk…

Well a bit of info would be great
      e.g.
      what Cpu you have
      amount of Ram
      Hdd size

If your trying to get rid of stuff for space try

      empting your recylcing bin
      Deleteing system restore files
      your thumbnail db
delete you temp internet files on IE
clean private data on firefox (ctrl+shift+delete)

if your on vista in your little search bar thingy on ur startmenu type
      cleanmgr and run cleanmgr.exe

Also programs arnt always the the leading reason to why your low on space normaly mp3s and movies take up alot more space than most comment programs

Also with as little space as 3gb or somthing i would really advise upgrading your computer or buying a new hdd

Have you checked the min. system requirements before installing the latest application? If so, does your system pass? Maybe your HDD space or DDR2/virtual memory is low enough not to permit any more speed than what you expect. Try deleting not needed applications/files to free up more space…Or transfer them to external storage like CD, etc.
