Computer slowed down after upgrade?

I got my computer upgraded a little (at a computer store) and I was able to play games like Oblivion and Call of Duty 4 perfectly but after a few months I seem to be getting really bad fps on any game I play. Are there any possible reasons/ solutions for this? Thanks
Nvidia GeForce 8600GTS
1.5G RAM
AMD 1.8 GHz Processor

      Uninstall your Graphic Card drivers.
      Use Driver Cleaner .NET to remove any left-overs.
      Go to NVidia and download 175.16 win2kxp WHQL drivers.
      Install.
