I have windows xp (package 2)
the computer wasnt really fast to begin with so somebody used it and started clicking away unpatiently and now i have these errors that ive never seen before. (took photos but i dont know how to add them on here).
basically i start the computer, asks for my password and then comes up a blue screen with errors… goes something like:
“problem has been detected, windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer… a process or thread crucial to system operation has been exited or terminated… check to make sure hardware and software is properly installed… if it doesnt work disable the new hardware and software… disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. use safe mode”
I tried to start it in safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with prompt command but the same screen appears again.
i tried las known good configuration and an error like this pops up:
“### (fatal system error)… system has been shut down”
i tried directory services restore and an error like this came up:
“unknown hard error”
so can anything be done? i really need to access some important files on my computer… please help me…

Just see if you can hook up your HDD to a different pc and recover your files. If not you don’t have an option but to reinstall XP.

- If you can , maybe try to change the position of your ram if you have empty slots
- try windows repair using a bootable cd or even install a new one if your files aren’ in the same partition the windows is
i really hope these could solve anything and good luck
