Ok i have vista, my CPU is amlost always 100% even when i have no programms running. Iv looked at the processes and nothing is taking all of the CPU up.
i have scanned my computer and its has no spyware/viruses/trojans or any other kimd of thing like that.
of course my computer is now really slow, has anyone got any idea?

the processor is above the system requiremnts by quite a bit,
My computer came with vista already installed on it, for about 2 months it has been fine, but all of a sudden its gone weird.
I have closed all unnesscary programs but nothing

What kind of processor do you use? Is it above the minimum system requirements by a reasonable margin?
If there is nothing running that should be dragging down your CPU's speed, then I'm inclined to think that your CPU isn't strong enough to handle Vista.
Try disabling Aero by going into your Personalize menu and switching to the Windows Classic theme. Then make sure things like Sidebar are closed. See if that makes any difference in usage.

Open Task Manager and find which program use all your resources. then process ending it,

Things which cause these proplems usually are:
-your copy of windows is not the Original one and that causes 100% CPU Usage and maybe Spoil your computer parts
-your computer is so old and you tries to Install Modern Programs that your computer couldn't Bear it
-There is a virus in your computer and it's trying to Spread in all of your files in the most fast way so it make your PC very slow
