I wanted to get rid of Limewire because I found that it was an unsafe, and illegal, program. So I went to my little folder that says “Limewire” and clicked “Uninstall Limewire.” Then it asked if I wanted to open “uninstall.exe” to uninstall the program. And I did. It brought me too “Limewire Uninstall Wizard” So I pressed next, next, next, waited for it a uninstall, and then finished. But the uninstalling process was really fast. The icon was still on my desktop. So I deleted the icon. Now, Limewire is no longer in my Programs and Features thing anymore. So, did I uninstall it?

Yes, but there will still be fragments of the program left. Go into “my computer/ programs”. there will probably still be a folder named limewire. right click this and choose delete. Run a registry program to clear up any remains

That was the long way of doing, the eaiest way would have been, click start going into control panel, into the add/remove program and uninstalling it that way. But yes you did uninstall it with one of the possible ways.

No. Same thing happened to me. I was uninstalling Limewire and unistalled pretty fast, but when I click the shortcut in the icons tab, Limewire is still there and running. I then checked in my programs file and it was still there. I tried to delete the folders but it didnt allow me to. It says Limewire is still running and being used by other programs but I dont have anything running. I still there!

I used add/remove programs to remove it (windows vista) and it ‘removed’ it, BUT not really! I then tried to delete the limewire folder in c:/program files but was presented with message that it could not delete (for one reason or another).
So, I rebooted my computer, pressing F8 a few times while windows began to load, that brought me into windows safe mode. From there, I navigated to the limewire folder in C:/Program Files, and deleted it. So far so good.
