Disable WEP encryption on Windows ME?

July 24th, 2008 · 2 Comments

I'm going to be staying at my grandparents' for a while, and while trying to connect to their wireless network via my Macbook, it asks for the WEP key, which I do not have.

They have a Linksys router and are using Windows ME. The router is connected to the PC, but I cannot access the settiings/standard IP through the web browser. Should the procedure be different when using Windows ME?

Help!

Why don't you just ask for the WEP key ? Sometimes, if it's not been changed, it's actually on the router.

no just change the WE to WPA, and if you know the password you can do it

if not there will be a reset button press this in using a fine tip pen/ needle and you should get the internet signal,

but then take out hte power cable for you internet (From the internet box) and wait 15 seconds then put it back in wait till it flashes like normal

      and it should work
