dlink router encryption help?

I tried to encrypt my Dlink router…
but on my laptop, when i clicked on my network, it doesn't bring me to the Security Key/passphrase for me to type in the key I made…it just say : windows cannot connect to __my network name______, and "diagnose the problem or Connect to a differnt network…

help please?

      Try holding down the reset button on the back of your router for 60 seconds, it should bring everything up and you can reset your passphrase and I am assuming you just have the one computer.

      Open up your wireless network and click on the properties for your wireless network. You can either delete the saved network, and it should ask for a passphrase when connecting again, or you can manually add that you have a passphrase in the properties. I think the easiest way would be to delete the saved network and it will re-create it and ask for the pass.

      go to control panel / network and sharing center
      then manage wireless network click on dlink and delete then on ur desktop beside of the watch and other icons click on ur wireless icon and connect to network and then u can connect to ur network and it will ask u for Security Key/passphrase and ur done
