i noticed AVG has been sending a pop up to upgrade to the paid version and suspitions got the better of me.I decided to seach for info.AVG is ceasing to update its freeware and concentrating on its paid version.Lately i have had signing in problems and the pointing device icon has been missing from my tool bar,my mouse pad has been getting stuck.
I removed AVG and searched for another free firewall and both problems are resolved.Viruses gallore will be allowed through soon i suggest you search for a new firewall too before you have major problems.
thanx Miccas although the pop up takes me to a paid not a free version so i was not aware of it,anyone having probs read miccas's answer and download the next version of avg although i do feel avg should make it more clear as many people are having these problems and are unaware thx again Miccas

Make sure you have version 8.0 free version installed. AVG is NOT ceasing to update it's freeware version as you try to claim.

FYI: AVG is an antivirus/antispyware, not a Firewall.
and yeah, I read this on a forum ( http://cboard.cprogramming.com/showthread.php?t=102417 ) but didn't want to jump into the conversation as I don't use it.
You can try Avast antivirus http://avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html Its free too.
