Does anybody know of a free program that will password protect a folder?

June 26th, 2008 · 4 Comments

I have found many programs that will put a password and encrypt files in a folder, but they only encrypt and protect files already in the folder. If I add more files to the folder, they are neither encrypted or password protected. I just want to be able to type in a password to access a folder and as I add files to the folder, they should be behind the password (they should be protected by the password).

You could try Folder Lock, but you have to pay for that. I once found one on download.com for free but I forgot the name of it. Other than that I think Folder Lock is your best choice, if your willing to buy one. By the way, they have a trial of it just so you can try it out and see if you like it.

There was a program that would password protect and hide behind a document. This was called Camouflage, I haven't had it or seen it for a long time. as long as it's open it's open, but once you close it, everything there is protected. However to get it open you must use a password… so it works.
