The trojan file is TROJ_BOAXXE.CB . My virus/malware scanner continually alerts me that the virus has been detected and when I press take action, the scanner alerts me that it has been treated and/or deleted. However, it continues to pop up. I found the specific file it is located in and does not seem to be important in the operation of any computer software or functions. However, it will not delete. Keeps saying write-protected or something like that. Any help would be great!!!

if you have xp/vista,Microsoft comes out with a Malicious removal tool once a month, but you got to download it and have it remove it or do a complete restore on ,restart computer,(hold-down) left ctrl button,on the blue bar when windows start-up start tapping f11 or f10 (depending on version) if you miss it,restart and do the steps again above,if you get through, click on restore(warning!!!,once you start the restore process,DO NOT CANCEL, or you'll never be able to use this feature again) and follow the instruction on the screen,back-up all files, this will wipe your hard-drive clean of all personal files, and soon you'll see that problem disappear, good luck

The only way you can guarantee all malware is off your computer, is to reformat your computer, and reinstall everything. Once malware is on your computer, you can never fully trust it's all gone, until you reformat, and start over.
Even if you can get rid of it, there's probably still other malware hiding on your system, that'll allow viruses back onto your system.
Sorry.

Did you do a scan command using your security software?
Do that first and the security program will give you options to delete trojan or quarentine it.
