Does anyone know how to get rid of the blue that sometimes covers my screen while playing sims 2?

While playing sims 2 every few seconds/milliseconds portions of the screen will turn light or dark blue…i dont know how to fix it and ive tried reinstalling the game but tht didnt seem to work… i installed a patch but that didnt work either…can some one plz help? bc its really hard to shot films with sims 2 when chunks of the screen turn blue…
