i bought norton 4 my computer because it had viruses and some how my norton is not working

Try using add or remove programs ,
start > control panel > add or remove programs
also maybe the virus has stoped norton from working
try and update it then scan it completely .

If you can't uninstall it in "add-remove programs", and then re-install it, get a free anti-virus so you can scan your pc for viruses: http://free.avg.com/download?prd=afe
Then scan for spyware with this free program: http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html

Go to symantec's web site and search for the removal tool (SymNRT). http://www.symantec.com You should be using the latest version.
