I really want to know =p because I really dont want to pay for somthing like this. lol I cant afford it right now, so anything like this free works fro me. AVG has been awesome!! I have had it since 7.5, and I have had no problems what so ever. But I have heard that it has NO Active Scanner. So..can someone please clear this up foe me?

AVG free has real-time protection from viruses and malware/spyware. Though it lacks scanning for unknown rootkits, Linkscanner Pro, and some advanced real-time protection which is not really necessary.

You can test AVG to see if it protects your computer from dangerous downloads form this site. The download contains a harmless test virus. It passes the test if it alerts you about a virus.
