I know what McAfee can do, and I know the reviews of Avira, but I'm asking someone that has used Avira. McAfee has kept many viruses off my computer, but McAfee comes with a firewall and Avira doesn't.
But I really just need to know about their anti-virus. I'm thinking about getting it or Comodo Internet Security when McAfee runs out on my desktop.

I know it has better detection rates than norton. My cousin is a sort of hacker and thinks its the best free anti virus

I use avira and just converted my sister from Mcafee. If u are concerned about the firewall get zonealarm or comodo firewalls which are both free. Avira is far superior to McAfee, plus its free.

I use avira free, comodo internet security (no antivirus) and spyware terminator, i never have any problems using any of them and im fully protected
