I have a virus on my PC called "AntiVirus2008", so I downloaded the Yahoo Online Protection through Nortons Anti Virus to help rid this virus. However, I have scanned my system several times with this software and no viruses are found. In the meantime, this virus is taking over my computer. Any suggestions? Please help! Thanks so much!

Follow the removal procedure here:

Almost all "general purpose","all-in one" spyware and virus removal programs such as AVG Anti-virus, Norton, Avast or Spybot S & D cannot remove this type of infection, as you have already found out.

i dont recommend norton because it slows down your system too much and loads slowly
but its virus scanning is pretty good, not the bust but its up there
AntiVirus2008 is spyware not a virus

Norton, while not terrible at anti-virus protection, is massively bloated, slows your system, and costs money. I'd suggest getting a free anti-virus, like AVG or Antivir. I've used AVG myself for over five years now, and never had a problem with viruses.
