I am always a bit afraid of viruses and trojans so I don't want my computer to crash with this Antivirus 2008. I already downloaded the SpyHunter. Do I need to remove that too?

First, make sure that you have an up to date antivirus program (If you don't, install AVG. If you have one that has expired, uninstall it with RevoUninstaller and then install AVG). I would also recommend that you use ThreatFire, Spyware Doctor Starter Edition, and Spybot. Once they are installed, disable System Restore and do full scans with all of them. If you need any extra help, feel free to send me a message on Yahoo Messenger and I can walk you through it or help you some more.

1. Download and run firefox to protect your computer from future spyware attacks and pop ups which are coming in through internet explorer (Trojan downloaders, win32 ).Browser attacks aren't easy to spot because they piggyback on legitimate traffic that doesn't exhibit many obvious warning signs

Yesterday I helped two guys from the UK to get rid of this XP antivirus scam. We corresponded via hubpages, so everyone can have a look at how we solved the problem:

But it took us half a day to identify the parts of the scam and delete its files. Manual skills are required, no matter how efficient the security software is.
