Windows Xp does not have a built in DVD decoder period. Vista does. You will need to get some third party dvd player software that has a decoder or download a seperate decoder for XP. You can google a search in. Try Real Player or DIVX player for a decoder.

      My Dear Friend

Why do you want alway to stick to what Microsoft has provided to you with the OS.

To Play DVD on your PC just install Power DVD or Real Player 11v and enjoy.
