dvd-rom registry got a headache now need quick response?

so put in my a-open dvd-rom and plugged in the cable, power,whatever
(and don’t tell me my ide cable is bad.) any way i did not show up in my computer even though said the hardware was being installed so i went to the control panel and it said that my dvd-rom had registry problems! now i’m stuck and don’t have the time to figure it out! help please? thanks

      have you installed the drivers for the dvd drive? It should have came with your hardware. If not, go to their web site and download the latest driver for your OS.
