Email spam after using Google?

I am suddenly receiving more and more spam in my main email account. I have noticed that after I used Google maps, the spam started having my home address and first name in the subject line. Additionally, I have begun getting spam that has a subject line that is identical to a topic I used Google to search for on the previous day. This seems too obvious to just be a coincidence. How does Google get my name and email? Do they have a way to hack into my computer? What can I do to stop it, other than stopping using Google to search? Any tips would be appreciated.
