I currently work for a company that required an encryption program for security reasons before I can do anything with my laptop. From time to time the computer asks me to change my password.
I want to stop using this particular computer for business purposes and am wondering if there is a way NOT to have this encryption when I convert this computer for my personal use.
As you can probably tell, I am no computer whiz, but any info will be appreciated.

Why not ask your company's tech support?

What encryption software is used? and are you using windows? if you are, try uninstalling the software with add/remove programs.
Not to scare you, but BEFORE YOU TRY THIS MAKE SURE YOUR DRIVES AND FILES ARE NOT ENCRYPTED! IF YOU STILL HAVE ENCRYPTED DATA YOU MAY LOSE IT!
Also, you may want to delete any sensitive business related data.
Windows XP: Start > Control panel > Add Remove Programs (if you see a category list in the control panel click on "Classic View").
Windows Vista: Same thing except the start button has been replaced with a windows logo and Add Remove Programs has changed to another name (it's very similar).
When you find the software click on it then click on the uninstall button, the uninstall shield should guide you through the rest.
If you can't find the name of the software in add remove programs post the software name for further help.
