I had visited a website to get a free screen saver. somethling like a toolbar or something was downloaded onto my computer, I used Windows XP. Actually I was cancelled the process of download but obviously when I was restart my computer a error message showed "Run DLL
Error loading C:\PROGRA~1\MYWEBS~1\Bar\1.bin\M3PLUGIN.DLL
the specified module could not be found
Is any suggestions as how to remove this unauthorized download from my system.
Thanks in advance

Go to Control Panel > Add & Remove Programs > Look for MyWebSearch and uninstall it.
You can also remove it by running Spybot Search & Destroy.

First and foremost stay away from all those free screen saver and like offers that you seem so enticing, they are usually filled with viruses and spy ware that can cost you dearly. Now you need to remove the remnants of the aborted download by accessing control panel then add/remove program scroll to the desired program and remove it. After which you should scan for virus and malware.

Since my last entry to the above problems.
I have installed on my computer Regcure, which I have been using for a long time with great success.
I decided to go in and have a look at the registry that Regcure cleans and found and entry from MyfunWebs.
You have an option to disable it or remove it all together. I removed the entry and my problem was solved. The error message, never to returned. Hope this help some of you having the same problem

Help. I have the same problem and had a virus that my husband simply deleted rather than fix. So, now my computer is all screwed up. I searched for Regcure but got two web pages…reg-cure.com & RegCire.com. Both say they are the official site, but one is free and the other is like $30. Is the one that costs money the correct one?

Go into your registry by running “regedit”. Open the software files and you’ll find a folder called “MyFunWeb” or MyWebFun and if you expand the folder you’ll see the file. Delete it. It will no longer pop up. If you are hesitant about modifying your registry, don’t. Get someone to walk you through it who knows what they are doing. Do not waste your time and money on software programs or downloading something from the web, you’ll pick up more malware or worse, a virus. Trust me, you can get rid of it cheaply and safely by editing the registry.

I only found MyWebSearch and FunWebProducts in my registry but it loooks like they have something to do with my Yahoo messenger. Any other suggestions, Taxman? Thank you in advance.

I also had this problem and managed to solve it. Basically what happened was, Mywebsearch was partially removed by my antivirus software (this caused the error message because it couldn’t run properly). I fixed the problem by downloading “HijackThis” and running it on my computer. Look for any results containing the words “Mywebsearch”, for example:
O2 - BHO: mwsBar BHO - {07B18EA1-A523-4961-B6BB-170DE4475CCA} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearch\bar\1.bin\MWSBAR.DLL
select these lines and click “fix this”. Then restart your computer and scan again. You should also check your program files to see if Mywebsearch appears (go to Add/Remove Programs). But most likely it won’t show up there.
I found the website http://hubpages.com/hub/mywebsearchtoolbar to be very helpful.
If you would like to keep the Mywebsearches toolbar, you can download it again from their website, but make sure all the remnants of the original program are removed first, or the download won’t work

Please click on Start, Click on Run and type the following in the open box and click OK
msconfig
Vista: In the Start Search field, type msconfig , and press Enter . The System Configuration window opens.
Or
Press and hold Windows logo key on keyboard and press R. It will open Run Window. Type the following in the open box and click OK
MSconfig
The System Configuration window opens.
Please click on Startup tab
Remove the check mark from entries related to Mywebsearch OR M3PLUGIN.DLL
Then click on Apply, Close and Please click on Exit without restart.
When the system restarts, you will see a message about System Configuration Utility. Click in the box for “Do not Show this message” and then click on OK.
It may work!

i have windows vista home premium and i had the same problem as everyone else!! i tried to get rid of the mywebsearch thing. it was giving me alot of problems! i thought i got rid of it untill i kept getting pop ups saying error loading everytime i started my computer! it wasnt listed with my other programs for me to just uninstall it. then i found something someone posted on here and it worked!! it took two seconds and never popped up again. if you have vista all you do is go to start, an in the search box put in msconfig. click on it above and then click continue. then the system Configuration window opens. then go to start up an a list of all your start up programs should be listed. uncheck all the mywebsearch programs and click apply, then ok. then restart your computer. your done:) thanx GJ:):):)
