Error message while playing sims to insert original instead of backup!!?

when i try to play BOn Voyage expansion pack

i have the original cd and when itried to install it , it installs fine but then wont start and i get this message saying Please insert the original disc instead of backup 1000 ???

i have reinstalled it many times and it still wont work.
my cd drive is brand new i bought it just a week ago.
the computer has 1 GB of ram.
i also installed it on my dads computer and his is a vista and it works just fine, but when i try to play on my Xp it wont work at all. only the original sims and nightlife work/

should i contact ea to give me a new cd? i still have the warranty. or is it a computer problem?
