I would like to get opinions about these products. I wouldn’t compare eset with internet security with firewall etc, because the memory usage goes much higher. Kaspersky av is lighter, but nto enough to reach kaspersky in this section. I believe that kav has beter detection rate, but, I noticed that kav didn’t get a vb100 award because of wildlist miss during 2007. I don’t care about false positives, but in december and june of 2007, kav had two wildlist misses. Don’t you think this is important? Also kaspersky slows down browsing speed, eset doesn’t.
What’s your opinion about these (eset smart security, kaspersky antivirus).
I just don't want to have sth that uses more memory than smart security or kaspersky. With an additional personal firewall, I think that this would happen

Well, you’re not really comparing like-for-like as Esey Smart Security includes a firewall whereas Kaspersky AV is just AV. NOD32 (Eset) is ‘lighter’ and faster than Kaspersky AV. I wouldn’t worry about odd blips, Kaspersky is consistently very good and, if I was looking for a suite, I’d choose Kaspersky as the firewall is much better than the Eset Smart Security f/w. As AV programs, well, have a look at this, it’s an advert but it’s factual: http://www.eset.com/products/compare-NOD32-vs-competition.php
Of the two, I’d go for NOD32 with either OnlineArmor or Comodo free firewall, that will keep you pretty safe and save you money.
