Ever since i got BitDefender Total Security, my laptop has become very slow!
It is a toshiba satellite laptop with 512 mb ram so it is not very fast and i have been running windows xp service pack 3 on it.
The reason i got bit defender total security was because i wanted to make my computer safe and fast because of the tuneup ability. Now it is even slower.
What program do you recommend for my laptop’s specs?

On my laptop, I have McAfee. I can guarantee you that the reason why your computer is so slow is because of BitDefender. It is one of the programs that require most memory and processing power. That is pretty much the reason I got rid of it after having it for one day! McAfee is more efficient and will be better for your laptop while offering better detection than BitDefender. The most efficient program is Avira. It uses very little memory but has the highest detection of ALL programs.

The other thing is ThreatFire will slow your computer down just like BitDefender. It is made from PC Tools, which is known for having programs that slow down computers a lot plus I've used it and hated it.
