I just bought a new laptop and everytime I open windows live messenger or any website, my AVG anti-virus program pops up with “found tracking cookie”. I then click heal, and it says some files cannot be healed.
i thought maybe it was because it was a wireless connection I was picking up that isn’t mine. Would that be the cause?
I’m worried that someone could steal my passwords I entered, or my personal information. I have never seen this happen with my desktop computer which is not a wireless connection.
Is there any way to stop it?

get adaware and set it to run every few hours. it may take a few days to get rid of them, but it will eventually get rid of the tracking cookies.
it wouldn’t have anything to do with your wireless connection and there is no way for someone to get your passwords etc unless you have a virus that you acquired from downloading a file that you did not scan with avg. bottom line: run adaware often because you’re obviously going on some websites that set cookies. cookies aren’t bad though… you can also go into your control panel, into internet options and you can delete your past data which should remove all the cookies but it will also remove all visited websites etc. if you have firefox, just go to tool and click on “clear private data”. that should do it. and be careful what sites you go on!
