My laptop has the same problem, except I use a different antivirus program. I think the tracking cookie is just what you pick up by browsing the internet and it's probably all those ads.

tracking cookies are everywhere, they are very common, they are low level spyware and is very unlikely to harm your pc, but they cannot do any good either so i just clear my cookies at the end of the day and that takes them away, till next time anyway and they will be right back, don't sweat it though, if that is the worse thing on your system then rest easy.

i have tried norton but found it to be crap, you can download avg free from grisoft, this is a great viris checker, also i have the free edition of zone alarm,i found that mcafee was catching, ppl or pcs trying to invade my pc and i reported them all to hacker watch
with norton i found i could get rid of some of their products
so dump norton and get an alternative to it

You will always have tracking cookies if you surf the net. Best way to handle them is to use programs like ad aware & ccleaner on a regular basis. They will clean up your computer.

ANYTIME YOU SURF THE WEB YOU'LL GET NEW TRACKING COOKIES ——- YOU CAN SET YOUR SECURITY UP TO WHERE YOUR COMPUTER DON'T ACCEPT A COOKIE , BUT THE WEB SITES WON'T ALLOW YOU TO SURF THERE

If you have not done so recently, it’s a good idea to visit the tracking cookie opt-out page. With a few clicks you can block cookies from Doubleclick and 14 other Internet tracking/marketers. Ironically, you must allow the site to set a “no thanks” cookie, so cookie blockers must be turned off to make this work.
If you use more than one browser, you’ll also need to repeat the exercise for each one.
