[Firefox] Why does all my searches Keep going to an AIM search Engine???

May 30th, 2008 · 2 Comments

After I updated my AIM every time I type in a search at my top search bar. The Main one it keeps going to an AIM search engine instead of google. How do I change this back?
I meant the main Search bar not the little toolbar on the side.

click on the button to the left of the search box and click on your desired engine.

Ok, in Firefox there are two places you can actually search - the address bar (middle) and the search bar (right-hand side)

If you search using the address bar, Firefox may just use your ISP (internet provider) for the search. I know mine changed when I chose to use a different DNS (site name to internet number looking up thing).

Your best bet is to use the search bar on the side - that's what it's there for. You can even add search sites to it!

If you really want to use the address bar for searches, go to Google and right-click in the search box, and choose
"Add a keyword for this search…"
I recommend calling it google and the keyword being g
This way, you can use the address bar, and all you have to do is put a g and a space before it.
Like looking up stevia would be:
      g stevia

      I hope this helps.
