Firefox window is placed behind all other open windows even when selected.?

Lately whenever I have Firefox open along with any other application, firefox gets placed behind. I have a mac and even when selecting firefox from the dock, the app. other than firefox stays on top. the only way I can view firefox is when all other windows are completely minimized. Everything is placed over firefox, and even when clicking the firefox window from the open itunes window nothing happens. The firefox options pop up on top of the screen but the actual firefox window doesnt show up. helpppp =/

right click the bar at the top and make sure its not set to stay at the back (if using ubuntu)
