Firewall and Routers?

October 1st, 2008 · 2 Comments

When i first connected my router, i couldn’t get any signals. Than i was suggested that i should disable my firewall (Comodo) on my computer. I did disable it and was able to connect. Right now my Comodo Firewall is disabled, after connecting to the internet, should i enable Comodo or will that create a conflict. I was also told that routers already have firewall in them, so having one on my computer may create problems? Thanks for your input.

You need only 1 firewall… if you need one at all.

Your router probably has 1 in
Windows Xp and Vista have 1
      Virusscanners often have 1

More than 1 firewall is overkill and may lead to problems

Best check your router, if it has one, uninstall comodo, disable windows firewall (see network properties) and disable virusscanner firewall

If it doesnt have one, use the windows firewall and disable the others
