firewall conflict ???????

i have just installed a netgear router which has a firewall running on it… im also running mcafee security suite and xp inbuilt security system which also has a firewall am i going to get some sort of conflict and if so which one(s) should i disable

      I would not run both mcafee and xp firewalls. one software firewall is enough if you have hardware firewall as well. The XP FW is pretty good actually so I would disable the macafee firewall but leave the other parts of mac running

      nope….they won't conflict…u can use both…
      its like a battlefield with 2 security grids in place..one after the other

      yes you will get conflict with having two firewalls or two antivirus applications. they each treat the opposite one as a threat to the system and one of them must be disabled unless you enjoy seeing a popup every 3 seconds warning you about the last keypress you made or program you have to give permission to run. if you can disable only the firewall in mcafee and retain its anti-virus power then the best thing to do is disable it and leave netgear alone because all it is designed to do is be a firewall. it would seem to me that going the other way and make mcafee do everything is silly.
