Flight Simulator X running slowly after installing Steam and Mcafee - help please!?

It was running at about 20-30fps with everything on high settings before I installed Steam and Mcafee anti-virus, but now I can't even get 10fps on the lowest settings. I don't see why Mcafee or Steam should slow ny PC down this much, can anyone help?

      trash that McAfee, go get AVG, any anti virus that eats into my memory, has to go, immediately
