Freaking out! System Antivirus 2008 and Malwarebytes problem!?

June 11th, 2008 · 2 Comments

My husband's computer is infected with System Antivirus 2008 malware, so I downloaded Malwarebytes to fix the problem. I ran Malwarebytes, and rebooted. After the reboot, the PC is now not able to boot application (*.exe) files, and won't allow me to even use Add/Remove Programs under the Control Panel. (It does allow me to boot Internet Explorer, however.) I can't even get back into the Malwarebytes program to view the log of what changes it made.

Any help you can give me would be a lifesaver! Thanks so much!

You could try using system restore and rolling the PC back a few days.
