So, somehow I have spyware on my computer. And it is clearly messing with it.. it is even effecting how the internet runs.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any FREE spyware removers/antivirus that can FULLY clean and remove the viruses off my computer?
A lot of websites claim to be free and to clean your computer but every time I download a program to do so.. all it does is scan it and then tells me that I have to buy it to continue.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

the majority of them are more than not likely to be malicious

I have used Lavasoft Ad-Aware and Spybot S&D for years and have never had any problems. They are both free. Beware of some of the others out there because they will scare you with too many false positives!

In many cases no single program will remove the various forms of malware infections, especially those that are malicious codecs. Antivirus programs may in some cases find reference to them and remove them, but upon reboot they are back again. Therefore you need to use a 'layered' approach to removing these parasites.
The following programs are free and have been successful in hundreds of instances of malware removal:
RogueRemover:

Download, install, update, scan and follow on screen prompts.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

Download, install, update and select Full Scan.
Remove all infections that it finds after scan.

If the problem persists, turn OFF System Restore and scan with the above programs in Safe Mode, Right click My computer > select Properties > System Restore Tab > Tick Turn Off System restore on all drives.
After scans are complete and machine is clean remember to turn system restore back ON and create a new restore point.
Once your scans are complete and your machine is clean, uninstall some of the programs, I suggest that you keep Malwarebytes for manual scanning, Spyware Doctor for realtime monitoring and Spybot. The remainder can be removed to save drive space, but you may want to keep the installers for future use.
Some of these threats are very clever and also remove Restore Points, as well as hijacking your desktop which will have a background image that you cannot change or icons missing. After scans are complete and machine is clean remember to turn system restore back ON and create a new restore point.
