Free trial antivirus finished and updates continues since then?

April 15th, 2008 · 7 Comments

The free trial Norton anti virus is finished. At this moment I can't afford to renew it. I read about AVG antivirus for free but when I was ready to dowload it, recommended me to unistall any antivirus program installed in my computer. I don't know if still some of the Norton program is working and since I Know that is one of the best I am afraid to unistall it. But what worries me at this moment is that lately, I don't know if it has something to do with the Norton anti virus program, but everytime I going to shutdown my computer, this one ask me to install new updates, one funtion that before was not asking me and I have notice that each day that pass by this one install more and more. Does these has something to do with the no renewal of my antivirus. I need suggestion, Should I uninstall the norton and install the AVG until I can get the new Norton or should I leave the computer like that and left her install new updates everyday that I turn it on? I will appreciate your help.

You need to uninstall the current suite you have before you can install a new one. Why are you so hesitant. Nothing will happen if you are unprotected for a few minutes.

ESET NOD32 is best. Get the Smart Security from here
      http://eset.no.sapo.pt/
Just download and follow the guide - uninstall Norton or AVG first

I would not use AVG or Norton, if you wish to pay for a AV then use Nod32 or Kaspersky, if you want a free AV then use Avira or Avast both are better than AVG.

Norton is not good at all. First, it will make your pc become slow. Then, if it finds a virus, maybe it cannot delete the virus. I have used Norton before. Because of these prob the i turn to kaspersky. In your situation, you need to uninstall the norton first because computer cannot has more than a antivirus. The PC do not know which antivirus that it should run. It better if you have an antivirus. Use Kaspersky. Although it is an trial version. You will get the satisfaction. Besides that, Kasperky update file is faster than other antivirus software.

if your trial expired then your anti-virus part of Norton isn't working as far as updates.i used to have Norton but got rid of it when the trial ended.it was a resource hog and a pain in the but to get rid of.feel free to get rid of overblown Norton if you wish.avg is OK but i like avast much better.those reminders are Norton bugging you

Norton does the job it was designed to do.
      It hogs space? like 45MB
Use the FREE stuff at your peril.
Norton Internet Security costs as little as 40 cents per week.
A can of drink or a Latte is more important?
