How do i make a backup of my computer, so that it could be reinstalled using that disk/disks/ harddrive. Like i install windows vista, all the programs i want, and when i need to reinstall vista, i could do it so it restores all my program, settings, passwords, files…im on windows vista right now.
yea, vista is a very buggy operating system, im gonna install XP on it once i get the sata drivers working and have my system dual boot from xp and vista. Vista looks cool, but is very buggy and a waste of system resources, too bad most pc games runs on vista. Windows update cause my computer to not turn on propertly even in safe mode, but before then i keep having to install the os cause it keeps crashing, and the hp recovery partition screwed up.

Oh, I wish I had the answer to this, but i’m actually having a very similar problem with my vista, I 100% regret getting vista. It has way to much baggage and problems.

Try a system restore that is already programmed into the windows. I have XP, so I’m not entirely familiar with the Vista Start bar, but it should be Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - System Restore. It should open into a wizard where you can choose to system restore to a previous date, or create a restore point. I think what you want is just to create a system restore point, so that if you computer fails, say next week, you can come back to where your configuration was today.
